Import your inventory to your web store with somaICE

A new feature in somaICE makes it even easier to sell your products on the web: Inventory import. Some of our clients who use a Point-Of-Sale (POS) cash register in their brick and mortar stores needed to more tightly integrate their inventory stock quantities with their somaICE web store. Customers would be purchasing some products that were no longer in stock and would have to be refunded.

Not any more.

Enter Inventory Import. somaICE can now take an Excel, OpenOffice Calc, or any other tab/comma delimited file and update the inventory quantities available on the web. Pretty cool!

Our clients update every night as they close their POS register to ensure that the correct inventory count is on the web and ready to be sold. No more refunding due to selling out-of-stock items!

Even better: Importing inventory data through somaICE also updates the information for each stock item and inputs new items automatically. This means that if information changes on the POS system or if new items are added to the system, they will be put on the web for sale the next time an Inventory Import is done in somaICE.

This latest update is in line with our ongoing efforts to tighten and increase our integration of the somaICE web store software with at-the-till, point of sale transactions. We are working to eliminate the line between physical store and web store.

Thanks goes out to our clients who have been patient and very helpful while we built this module and to the somaTEAM for making it happen.
